Staycation @ The Market

With so much to do on Canada Day weekend when you live in the first capital of Upper Canada, this Saturday’s Farmers' Market is the perfect way to start it off right!  Our farmers and vendors will be showing their Canadian pride this Saturday; customers will have a chance to vote for the vendor that has the best decorated booth.  The winning vendor will receive a “SupperMarket for 2” package, to enjoy at our Wednesday night event. This Saturday @ The Market, you will find cherries, beets, lettuce, beans, garlic scapes, peas, new potatoes, radishes, herbs, and more. Forgot your shopping bag? Swing by the Market table to purchase a Greenbelt cloth shopping bag for $1, and then fill it with local goodness!  Smooth Edge Sharpening Services will be set up 8-1 on Saturday; drop your knives and scissors off with Brian, grab a coffee and some breakfast, and enjoy the music of local artist Tim Atherton.

SUPPERMARKET NEWS
SupperMarket on Wednesday July 4th is going to be another great community event.  Locals gather to celebrate the bountiful area that we live in with local food, wine, beer, cider, and entertainment.  The wineries on the 4th are Joseph’s and Riverview.  For wine, GoVino glasses are available for a small charge of $2 and we encourage you to bring it back week after week, or bring your own acrylic glass from home.  On tap are local beers from Silversmith and Oast, and local cider by Ironwood.  SupperMarket on Wednesday July 4th will see the return of crowd favourite The Hopyards. Arrive early to secure a spot of one of the colourful picnic tables, stand-up barrels, or bring your own chairs and picnic blankets to spread out on the grassy area.   The Kids’ Zone, sponsored by DF Design Build, Niagara Inflatables, and Niagara Nature Tours will be open 6-8pm; please bring a non-perishable food donation for Newark Neighbours when enjoying these free activities.  Join us every Wednesday for good friends, good food, and good times.

The Market @ The Village would like to thank our sponsors John and Liz Hawley, Wineries of Niagara on the Lake, DF Design Build, The Town of Niagara on the Lake, Allstate Insurance Co. St. Catharines, and Niagara on the Lake Realty.  Without the generous support of our sponsors, this great community event would not be a possibility.
The Farmers' Market runs every Saturday morning from 8 am to 1 pm until October 6th, and the SupperMarket runs every Wednesday evening from 4:30 to 9 pm until September 19th.  Both Markets are located at 111 Garrison Village Dr. (By the colourful picnic tables across from The Garrison House) Always think local and support local first.

Meet You @ The Market!
