Have You Joined In On The Fun Yet?
With so many things to do in Niagara during July, don't forget to mark the Saturday morning Farmers' Market on your calendar. Our local farmers have their tables full of seasonal produce; what better way to celebrate Niagara's bounty than a meal made from fresh local fruits and veggies, naturally raised meats and eggs? With baked goods, hand-tied floral bouquets, and breakfast, Saturday mornings and the Farmers' Market go hand-in-hand. Brian from Smooth Edge Sharpening will be ready to sharpen your knives, scissors, and tools this Saturday. Grab a coffee, pastry, or farm-to-table-breakfast from Your Farm Gate, pull up a seat, and take in another great morning with some live music @ The Market with Cory Cruise.
SupperMarket on Wednesday July 12th is gearing up to be another first-class evening, with our amazingly creative food vendors, wines by Two Sisters Winery and Konzelmann Winery, beer by Oast House and The Exchange, and cider from Lowrey Bros. Remember to bring your own acrylic wine glass from home, or a reusable GoVino glass can be purchased for $2. For the second and final time this season, we have added a bit of a twist to the entertainment. We welcome Busker Paul Maskell to the stage to delight you! "He has amused and amazed audiences around the world. His show is a unique blend of charm, zaniness and amazing feats. From the time he makes his entrance until his heart stopping finally, 15 feet in the air, juggling knives, blindfolded, on a uni-cycle. You won’t want to miss a second." Come early to get a spot of one of the colourful picnic tables, or stand-up wine barrels, or bring your own chairs and picnic blankets to spread out on the grassy area. There’s plenty of parking in the lot off of Niven Road; just follow the signs. SupperMarket is fast becoming the place to celebrate summer and friends.
Continuing with our community focus we continue to collect non perishable food items for Newark Neighbours on both Saturdays and Wednesdays.
The Farmers' Market runs every Saturday morning from 8 am to 1 pm until October 7th, and the SupperMarket runs every Wednesday evening from 4:30 pm to 9 pm until September 20th.. Both events are located at 111 Garrison Village Dr. (across from Refuge Antiques and Garrison House) The Market @ The Village has become the place where locals gather at Niagara-on-the-Lake's “new” town square.
